The stories we tell ourselves; that we are too much, or not enough, or simply undeserving; rarely begin with us.
Most people who find their way to Soma Psychology Clinic are not falling apart. But beneath the competence and the composure, there is a quiet story asking to be understood. Annelise founded this practice with the deep conviction that understanding where these stories started and how they evolved is not just the first step toward change: it is, often, the most compassionate thing a person can do for themselves.
About Annelise
Annelise (she/her) is a Registered Clinical Psychologist and Supervisor under the Singapore Register of Psychologists (SRP). She holds a Master of Psychology (Clinical) from the National University of Singapore and received training in Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-E) through the University of Oxford.
Annelise has extensive experience working with both local and expatriate individuals, offering therapy across a range of cultural contexts. She is effectively bilingual and is skilled in psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment in both English and Mandarin.
Her areas of specialisation include:
Anxiety-related challenges
Disordered eating and body image concerns
Relational trauma rooted in unmet childhood needs
In addition to her clinical practice, Annelise serves as an SRP-approved Clinical Supervisor, supporting early-career psychologists in developing their clinical skills, professional identity, and capacity for reflective practice. She has held roles in the broader professional community, including as Publicity Chair of the Singapore Psychological Society, where she contributed to public education efforts aimed at fostering greater awareness and openness around mental health.
For several years, Annelise also taught undergraduate psychology modules at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and values the opportunity to nurture future professionals in the field, a role she finds deeply rewarding for its capacity to shape thoughtful, reflective clinicians.
My Approach
Annelise is known for her calm, grounded presence and a therapeutic style that integrates warmth with structure. She creates a safe, reflective space where clients feel deeply understood and comfortable in their authentic selves. The felt sense of being emotionally met provides the safety needed for old patterns to soften, allowing new ways of relating to self and others to emerge.
Her work is emotionally attuned and guided by a strong clinical framework. Through thoughtful assessment and collaborative formulation, Annelise supports clients in making sense of their inner world, identifying unhelpful patterns, and taking intentional steps toward meaningful, lasting change.
She draws on a strong foundation of evidence-based modalities, tailored to each client's unique needs and readiness:
Advanced Schema Therapy
Attachment-Based Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Organisational Wellbeing & Clinical Advisory
Beyond her clinical practice, Annelise partners with organisations to build psychologically safe, high-performing workplace cultures. Her experience as an onsite psychologist at Clifford Chance; providing confidential support for lawyers and staff navigating perfectionism, burnout, and emotional fatigue; informs the clinical rigour and organisational understanding she brings to every engagement.
She currently serves in a clinical advisory and consulting capacity with Novo Nordisk, contributing psychological expertise to the intersection of medicine and mental health; reflecting her conviction that effective care must always account for the psychological dimensions of a person's experience.
Annelise's corporate engagements span individual and group-based psychological support, consulting, and strategic advisory on mental health practices at an organisational level. Her approach is highly personalised and tailored to the specific pressures of high-performance environments.
